What is the difference between the Nintendo DS, DS Lite and DS XL?
Do they even sell the regular Nintendo DS, or are they the same that XL?
DS - The original. Nornal screen and touch screen. Two slots, one for DS games and one for GBA games. DSLite - Smaller version of the original, but basically the same. DSi - Slightly larger than the DS Lite with bigger screens. The GBA port was deleted. There is now an SD card slot on the side to store games / music / pictures / etc ... It has two cameras, a music player (AAC), and it Shopping Channel to download unique games and applications. He can play any DS games but can not use the old maps R4/M3. Some recent games have no DSi features and / or perform better on the DS and DS Lite that in the near future they could make games specifically for the DSi. Security is better than the Lite. DSiXL - exactly the same as normal DSi just bigger and comes pre-loaded with two titles in the shop DSiWare (the DSi could get the apps, but you have had to use your 1000 points to get them for free, while the XL, they are already on the console for you). 3DS - the next console the DS Series. It will have the 3D functions that use the camera in the hinge to know where you are and so when you move or the camera moves it changes the perspective images on the screen making it look 3D. I think they also said something about two touch screens, but that could have been after for a DS 3DS. They stopped selling the original DS a while ago, but you may be able to get one in the thrift shops / flea markets and online at places like eBay. They continue to sell the i lite and IXL. I think it is later this year or early next year will be released when the 3DS (although it will be released in Japan a few months earlier than the rest of the world, so if you can read Japanese, you might get a then.
