Is the new Final Fantasy XIII really as bad as critics say?

The graphics are amazing scores, but the gameplay and all are very bad: S Im a veteran of Final Fantasy if I can get over that: PI have played every FF since the first. So why is a year 2010 installment embarrassing for them? Btw thank you can FF to another veteran to answer this question. It will not be very useful to a player first give me their opinion. No offense to the neophytes thank you:)

Honestly it depends on how opened minded you are and how you previous payments are attached to the series. FFXIII is a completely different approach to play the RPG game, in that it tries to take more action-packed itinerary. It is more linear, yes, but who is to eliminate some of the problems of directionality plot were players with previous payments. If you played FFXIII, you'll notice that there are no towns (as far as I know) where you can Free Roam. All purchases are made via terminals save. This gets rid of the "boring" aspect of running a character to unlock some plots or access to restricted areas. Other advantages of the game linear cut scenes more often, never "stuck" in a plot, less need for a game guide, among others. Of course, then there are also negative, but most I've seen anyone really expected from FFXIII to be like his predecessors. I honestly think that if FFXIII was released under a different name not associated with the franchise FF, he would receive notice radically better. Not sure of the thing version 2010. Could be because the game was over much earlier than the release, but they had problems. One which I know was the voice and conversions xbox360.
