Game Year Ps3

What is the difference between the original edition of a game and the PS3 "Game of the Year" Edition?

The title says all. I did not want just a specific set of general because I still see the original game and then the game of the year edition. Thank you to you guys have been a great help!

I have two sets of issues per year. In both cases, the games come with DLC. For example, Call of Duty 4 GOTY come with all the multiplayer maps available. Fallout 3 GOTY come with all the mission packs add-on. I personally think that the game of the year are valuable editions if you do not already have the game.
