Does Marvel have something like the Justice League like DC?

So Dc comics has the Justice League, does Marvel have one too? What is the name?

The Avengers would be most like the Justice League. Both titles tended to feature the major heroes from each company. (JLA with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. from DC; Avengers featuring Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America from Marvel.)

With other Marvel teams, X-Men is very popular (with some), but the group is based on the idea that the members are all mutants, and they tend to stick together more as a group. JLA and Avengers have tended to feature many characters that already had separate books of their own, and they would come together from time to time as the situation warrents it.

Another Marvel team, the Fantastic Four, was originally introduced in response to DC's success with the JLA, but were quite different. They were more like a family (Reed Richards dated and later married Sue Storm; Johnny Storm was her brother, and Ben Grimm was a friend of Reed's from back in college), they didn't bother with secret identities, and they tended to wear uniforms that were very similar to the other members.

Another Marvel team was the Defenders, but they haven't had a regular book / line-up for a while.
