What if it was legal to protect your property using lethal force?

If you could shot someone for stealing from you then they probably wouldnt want to steal from you right? If you cant protect your property then where does it end, next you cant protect yourself because you werent sure if they was really gonna kill you with their knife. Not being able to protect your property is condoning criminal acts. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

If someones trespassing and means to harm or steal from you, you could get away with it. Say that you thought he had a weapon. Cops do it all the time. Tell the cops you were afraid. But don't shot kids for stepping on your lawn.
